It won’t turn up looking cheap

The complaint is never the price. It’s that the garment felt thin and nobody wore it twice. So here, in plain terms, is what we print on, how we print it, and where the limits are.

The garments

The best of each range, and nothing below it

We buy the top of every range and stock nothing under it. Nothing below 180gsm, and the hoodie is 350. If a garment isn’t good enough to put your colours on, it doesn’t go on the list.

The cotton

100% organic cotton. Here’s the proof.

Every garment we print on is made from GOTS certified organic cotton, certified the whole way through the supply chain rather than only at the farm. The heavier sweats blend it with certified recycled polyester so they keep their shape. Nothing here is conventional cotton, and nothing is a blend of convenience.

We don’t hold those certificates. The mills and the factories do, which is exactly the point of them. Ask and we’ll send you the current ones.

Made to be kept

The greenest hoodie is the one nobody throws away

Branded clothing has a poor reputation and it has earned it. A 140gsm tee handed out at a conference is in landfill by spring, and that was never a saving. Everything we print is thick enough, and printed well enough, that people keep wearing it.

Tested to fifty washes. That is the whole sustainability argument as far as we’re concerned: buy one good thing, wear it for years, and don’t buy it again.

How we print

DTF, and we’ll be straight about it

Full colour DTF transfer, heat pressed in Hampshire. Soft, durable, tested to fifty washes. No setup fees because there are no screens to make.

Up close you can feel it slightly, and on dark colours there’s a faint edge to it. It isn’t screen printing and we won’t pretend it is. Over a hundred items we’ll quote you screen printing instead, which is cheaper at that volume and lets us match a colour exactly.

Certifications

The paperwork, briefly

GOTS

The organic cotton is certified organic the whole way through the supply chain, not just at the farm.

GRS

The recycled polyester in the heavier sweats is certified recycled, with the chain of custody documented.

Fair Wear Foundation

The factories that make the garments are members, which means independent checks on pay and conditions.

OEKO-TEX

The inks are certified free of the substances you wouldn’t want against your skin.

Colours come out close but not exact. Garment colour varies slightly between dye lots, and garment dyed products vary by design. That’s rather the point of them.
